A line of classic wines with a new interpretation. The Crens, Piedmont dialect for ridge or crest, are those hills where great-grandfather Daniele Lanzavecchia tended his vines in Serralunga d’Alba, in the heart of the Langhe. To distinguish one hill from another, he gave each a name, that of the animal he most connected it with. One was the Butterflay Cren, because he would see hundreds of brightly coloured butterflies swirling around there in the summer months.  Another was the Owl Cren, where an engaging owl would perch in an ancient oak tree every night. Fifty years of experience later, the Lanzavecchia Winery has drawn inspiration from this family tradition to create the Crens, DOC and DOCG wines where both the image and production method are unique and modern, designed to take account of the tastes of younger consumers.
